Terms 1 & 4

A fast growing sport nationwide and a favourite for our FFC students.  The number of students playing this sport is phenomenal, the growth of this sport in NZ is crazy. 
We cater for junior and senior boys and girls and always look forward to the upcoming seasons. 

Senior volleyball is during term 1 only, games are played on Saturdays based at various venues around Hamilton.  

Junior volleyball happens during term 4 only and are usually played on Thursday afternoon/evenings.  In 2025 this grade was played over two days – Thursdays and Saturdays – due to the high number of teams registered to play.  Juniors can also play in the senior volleyball competitions during term 1.

Important dates: Term 1 Senior Volleyball, Term 4 Junior Volleyball. 

Uniforms: We provide uniforms – we don’t supply the safety knee or elbow pads.  Students may get their own. 

Equipment: We also provide training and match balls per team, as well as whistles for referee duty that all teams must do during the season. 

Referee Duty: All teams the compete in the Waikato Volleyball Competition is expected to carry out this duty.  At the beginning of the year in term 1 Waikato Volleyball hold a one day referee course. It is our expectation that all FFC students that register to play volleyball also sit this one day referee course.
