The Fairfield College Parent Teacher Association is an active and vital body within the College community, providing a communication link between parents, staff and the Board of Trustees.
Who are we?
The PTA committee includes parents of current students, staff members with special interest in our projects, and representatives from the school Senior Leadership Team. We welcome new members, either on the committee or as helpers in our various projects.
MEETING DATES AND STARTING TIMES FOR 2011:
22 February and 22 March: Start at 7.30 pm
24 May, 28 June, 23 August, 27 September: Start at 7 pm
25 October and 22 November: Start at 7.30 pm
We meet in the staff room at school and welcome all parents and caregivers of students at Fairfield College.
What do we do?
The PTA provide the school with a parent's perspective on various new initiatives and in turn receive regular updates on the direction the school is taking to provide all our students with the best possible learning opportunities.
The PTA also do a limited amount of fundraising to support a range of sporting, academic and cultural activities by students, as well as providing for the purchase of equipment for academic and musical areas, outdoor education, and the school gardens and facilities. In the coming year we will concentrate on one or two major projects, the first of which is to provide more adequate shaded areas for students to use during lunch breaks.
